Community Integration and Habilitation Waiver: The Community Integration and Habilitation Waiver is one of two Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services waiver programs for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Home and Community-Based Medicaid Waivers provide person-centered individualized supports that assist individuals in living in their own home or family home and have full access to the benefits of community living.
Family Supports Waiver: The Family Supports Waiver is one of two Medicaid Home and Community- Based Services waiver programs for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Home and Community-Based Medicaid Waivers provide person-centered individualized supports that assist individuals in living in their own home or family home and have full access to the benefits of community living.
Traditional Medicaid, also called fee-for-service (FFS), provides full health care coverage to individuals with low income. This includes member who are:
Over age 65 or disabled
Eligible for home- and community-based services
Eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid
In nursing homes, intermediate care facilities for the intellectually disabled, and state operated facilities
A program that offers health insurance to certain low-income families, individuals with disabilities, and elderly individuals with limited financial resources. Medicaid is jointly funded by the federal and state government. Medicaid programs vary from state to state though there are some services that are required by the federal government.
The federal health insurance program for:
People who are 65 or older
Certain younger people with disabilities
People with End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a transplant, sometimes called ESRD)
The different parts of Medicare help cover specific services:
Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance)
Part A covers inpatient hospital stays, care in a skilled nursing facility, hospice care, and some home health care.
Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance)
Part B covers certain doctors' services, outpatient care, medical supplies, and preventive services.
Medicare Part D (prescription drug coverage)
Helps cover the cost of prescription drugs (including many recommended shots or vaccines).
